Northamptonshire Emergency Services Cadets
The Northamptonshire Emergency Services Cadets, (NESC), deliver a combined Emergency Services curriculum allowing our young people to develop skills across our Emergency Services as well as important social and life skills. Cadets are fast becoming an important part of the policing, fire and ambulance family, offering a key link to our younger members of the community.
Our cadet scheme is open to all young people aged 13-18 fully embracing the rich diversity of communities living in Northamptonshire. Regardless of career ambitions, academic progress or capability all we ask is that our cadets are committed to being a cadet. NESC are a registered charity supported by Northamptonshire Police, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service. We also work with volunteers who give their time freely for the young people of our scheme.
About Our Charity
The cadets attend weekly sessions, term time, between 6pm and 9pm as well as volunteering within their local community to make a positive impact and taking part in local events and parades. Sessions include fitness, role play, leadership skills, confidence skills and self-development. Cadets are also involved in hands on activities such as test purchases of knives, delivering police advice leaflets, CPR resuscitation training, environmental clean ups and fire prevention.
All of our adult leaders are either Police vetted or DBS cleared. If you are 18 years old or older and would like to volunteer as an adult leader please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information. We have schemes in Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Towcester & Daventry.
